childrens books

Something special happened for me last week. . . I finally released my very first children’s picture book! I have been working on this for a very long time. Since 2018. It definitely proved to be a challenging experience since I had never done it before. I knew I wanted it to be good, so I made sure to take my time with the process. I attended online and in-person children’s book conferences and really dug in to learn everything that I could. So here it is! Skunk’s Party Surprise: A Sweet Counting Tale.

If you have little ones in your life, they just might love it. It’s about friendship, sweet treats, and counting from one to ten. It’s not just a counting book, but also has a sweet story woven in.

I’m so happy that it is finished. It was so much fun to create and imagine up this little story and it’s characters.

You can currently find it on Amazon.com. Just search for my author name or the title. Happy reading!

My Projects

~Mellie Beane, on the Scene!~

I am very happy to announce that I have started a YouTube channel!

I suddenly decided that it might be a good idea, and it also might be kind of fun too. As I started to think about what I could actually DO on my channel, I scoured my mind for ideas and things that I was good at.

And finally I decided…

I would start a drawing channel for kids! Of course, for all those adults too, who want to learn how to draw cute and fun things.

It actually makes me feel really good to share what I know with you, and I am really enjoying making all the videos. There has definitely been a learning curve, seeing how I knew absolutely nothing about editing video or transferring files, and yadda yadda…but I’m working on it! I have lots of plans for the future!

Without further ado…a video!

Fun Stuff

~When Bugs Dance~

I might be a person who regularly listens to Burl Ives.

I also might be a person who enjoys the thought of bugs doing “people things.”

When I was a kid, I watched the movie Summer Magic, I don’t know how many times. I loved it, but most of all, I loved this little song.

Enjoy! I hope it makes your heart happy.
